Perform a reset of the m.Unit - With the ignition off, press and hold the Start and Horn buttons, then turn on the ignition while continuing to hold the buttons. After approximately 10 seconds the turn signals should blink alternatively. Then, you should see various components briefly activate as the m.Unit takes fresh voltage readings.

Help trouble-shooting my motogadget m-unit Hey Guys, Anyone really understand the m-unit? I'm almost done with my Virago '95 rebuild, but every time I start the bike, the horn goes off - indicating that the m-unit is overvolted. It doesn't start immediately, but if it idles for about 10-15sec it will go off.

This could easily be done on a stock bike by changing the location of the unit.

Your original basic engine, starter, and battery power and generation system is a POWER/NEUTRAL wiring system isolated from Motogadget control with only one point of cross-over between the m-unit control and the battery both the positive and negative ground/neutral would be best practice… as the basic m-Unit or m-Unit blue provides.
